My name is Kara DeFuria and I am thrilled to be a part of the St. Peter’s Nursery School staff.  My experience with St. Peter’s began in 1999 as a parent.  I loved the school and its philosophy of learning through play and taking everyday experience and turning them into teachable moments.  I have had three children attend St. Peter’s, all with very different personalities and needs.  The staff at St. Peter’s has always gone above and beyond in embracing each of my children and making their nursery school experience second to none.  I spent many years teaching elementary school and have a great love of working with children and watching them grow as learners.  I had been home with my family for several years but have continued to work with children at many levels including Cub Scout den leader, Girl Scout leader, religious education teacher and private tutoring.  I was very excited when the opportunity came to teach at St. Peter’s.  I have been amazed each day at the energy and excitement that the children bring to the classroom and their ability to learn so much through the art of play.  I feel very honored to be working with such a wonderful staff and being part of the St. Peter’s Nursery School family.
